She studied visual arts in Los Angeles and in 2002 began to study sociology in Fullerton University of California. She left those studies and worked at Starbucks for a while before entering the porn business in October 2003. She did so in part because of the money and also to get back at an ex-boyfriend.
Since then Gia became one of the most famous porn stars, being known for her aggressive double penetrations and passionate performances in scenes, and especially for her willingness to try absolutely anything in her videos, from double blowjobs to triple penetration, but she is well-known for being the first porn actress to receive a donkey punch on film.
In January 2005 she overdosed on cocaine, when her pulse increased to over three times her normal rate. She recovered quickly though, and made an appearance at the AVN Awards, where she even received the trophy for Best All-Girl Sex Scene. After that she signed a contract to be a director for the company New Boundaries while she kept performing.
In February 2007 she decided to end her adult career, having done just a couple non-sex scenes after that but being completely out of the business nowadays. She is a make-up artist married with Tommy Pistol, the Naughty America director and former adult performer, since December 2007. It is her second marriage after divorcing fellow actor Coffee Ron.
