Movie Room

From the tour, you can preview anything from within the member's area. I'd say Movie Room has the best layout of any of the DVD archives I've been to. The scene preview pages are wonderful, and just like in the member's area, clicking around from a particular DVD title, to the page of the studio that produced it to the pages of the pornstars appearing in the scenes is as simple as it could possibly be.

At the time of writing this review (November 2009), Movie Room contained 1464 DVDs amounting to a total of 7152 scenes. I've certainly been inside of cheaper DVD archive sites with more porn available, but it's the attention to detail that makes Movie Room so great. Plus they've got a great range of titles.

They add a new DVD every single day, each on average with 4 or 5 scenes. That's 28-35 new scenes every single week, available in a wide range of different formats. I almost discounted the quality of the videos at Movie Room. On each DVD page, there's an option to download the entire DVD as a single video. This option is only available in two different quality levels: 800kbps and 300kbps. Well below the kind of quality you'd expect these days. However, individual scenes are available in much higher quality. The same two options are available, but there's also a DVD quality WMV option available, encoded at 2000kbps. There's also a high quality streaming youtube style flash videos embedded into the page. On top of that, there are also videos available specifically for iPod and PSP. You will of course also get standard DVD information such as the date it was added to the member's area, individual scene lengths, rating, DVD descriptions and scene descriptions.

One of the most handy features is the Pornstar Explorer search engine. I've seen similar things before on other websites, but this is by far the most powerful I've seen. You can search based on 5 different attributes: ethnicity, hair color, tit size, body type and ass type. Of course, there's also the more traditional alphabetically organized index and a top rated pornstars list too.

I was hoping to find some screencap galleries to go along with the videos. I only mention this because screencaps are getting better and better these days and the quality on offer at some of the other DVD archive sites is getting quite impressive. Hopefully Movie Room follow suit in the future.
