General impression: It's pretty rare that I see an idea in porn and think “That's different.” Especially in the reality porn niche. Most sites these days are just some variation of Bang Bus when you really get down to it. This website turns it around. Instead of some dude who just keeps on finding women who look suspiciously like pornstars on the street, they take the pornstar to the street (or in this case an adult video store) and find the regular guys. It's a great concept and it's a hell of a lot more believable than most reality porn out there if you ask me.

Bravo's opinion: I've got to say I wasn't particularly impressed when I logged into the member's area. Firstly, I arrived in the main area of the Meat Members network rather than the Midnight Prowl portion of the member's area. And it's a very cluttered design. There's quite a few adverts around and finding what you're looking for could certainly be much easier.

Once you've made your way to the Midnight Prowl area, you'll find the four most recent additions to the website featured, each including a scene description and 3 thumbnail images with links to the pictures, screenshots and of course videos. To the right of the four most recent, are the four most highly rated scenes in the member's area. Great place for new members to get started.

Below the latest and highest rated scenes, you'll find more thumbnail images, each depicting another scene along with links to more archive pages. There's plenty of content inside Midnight Prowl. As of August 2008, the archive stood at a whopping 244 episodes.

Up until just a few months ago, Midnight Prowl was updating every week with a new episode. But that's not the case any longer. Whether or not the site will update again remains to be seen. But in my experience when a site stops updating for a couple of months, that's usually it.

There have been some unfortunate decisions made when it comes to the content that in my opinion have really held the website back. First and foremost is the lack of a single-file download for each scene. Instead, you can only watch each scene as a series of downloadable or streaming clips that run for about 5 minutes each in length.

Videos can be downloaded or streamed in either MPEG or WMV formats in both high and low resolutions. The high resolution videos are 512 x 288 pixels and the low resolution videos are 320 x 180. Take note of the 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. Don't bother with the lower resolution videos. They're terrible. But the high quality WMV files are a real treat. They're encoded at over 1300kbps and look great. I'm watching on a 22 inch widescreen monitor and even when watching the videos in full-screen, they look fantastic.

There's two choices when it comes to image content: pictures and screenshots. I avoid screenshot galleries like the plague. They're just stills taken from the videos and as such the quality is very rarely any good. The picture content, while it looks great, is let down by below average image resolutions of just 900 x 600 pixels. It's a real pity. There's heaps of pictures per gallery and they can also be downloaded in ZIP files for your convenience.

The lack of future updates should be a concern. But remember you do have a huge archive of over 200 exclusive scenes to get through as well as bonus access to the Meat Members network archives and all the updates that come along with bonus access to another 44 websites. That's right, by joining Midnight Prowl you're actually getting access to the entire Meat Members network. That's 45 websites for the price of one! With some small changes, this member's area could be improved dramatically. The first step would be the inclusion of full-length video files instead of just clips. And even though the videos do already look quite good, the resolution of the highest quality formats could definitely be raised. Picture content needs to be improved too. But in terms of sheer bang for your buck, you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal than what's on offer here. Even on its own, without updates, this is not a bad price to get access to all of the Midnight Prowl content. Throw in the bonus access to the rest of the Meat Members network and you've got a deal that's hard to beat. Enjoy!
