In her teenage years she studied piano, taught colloquial English in Japan aged 16, was NJ spelling champion and participated in National Geography, Language Arts and Mathematics Olympiads. She attended performing arts high school, won the National Merit Scholarship (for 1440 on SAT’s) and went to Rutgers University on a full academic scholarship, with a double-major in Business and Japanese but she did not graduate. When she was 17, though, she ran away from home because her parents were putting too much pressure on her to succeed academically.
With no money and with no place to go she entered college, more for the room and board than for education. She was bartending to make money and found out that dancing makes even more so she began doing that, sent some pictures to male magazines and all of the sudden she was starting her porn career. She picked her stage name because she is Asian and thought that Asia was a pretty name too, and Carrera from the actress Tia Carrere, spelling it different to prevent lawsuits.
She admits she has had lots of plastic surgeries. She had two nose jobs, liposuction on her lower abdomen and inner thighs and her boobs redone twice, going from a 34B to a 36C. She is considered to have one of the best boob jobs in the industry.
Asia was married to nutritionist guru Don Lemmon and had a baby girl named Catalina on 2005. Don died in a car accident on 2006, when she was pregnant with her son, Devin who she gave birth at home by herself. In 2010 she admitted she had turned into an alcoholic after Don's death, and that she was going to Alcoholic Anonymous to sober up. Before Don she was married to XXX director Bud Lee for 8 years since 1995.
Since December 2003 she is retired and has no plans to return to porn. She spends her time now with her website, which she has been running by herself since 1996. She also studies quantum physics and invest in Wall Street, which is one of her passions being Warren Buffett, a financial genius, her idol.
