There are literally countless websites to choose from, with even more being created with each and every passing day. Doesn't sound like a problem, does it? Well, no, but it is. The sad fact of the matter is that the majority of what's being created isn't worth the time of day. That's where this website comes in. I check out the pictures, the videos, the design, the ease of use, the support, and then I consider the price. The end result? It's happened to all of us. We've come across a website, and from the outside, it looks totally tits. You've got a hardon, and all you've seen is the tour. You can't wait to get inside. If you ask me, how good a website is depends on three major criteria. There are actually a whole lot of different things I look for, but the most important are price, content and updates. If a website has exclusive content, meaning it's pictures and videos you won't find anywhere else, then it's already got a notch up on other websites with licensed content, which is that overused stuff you see everywhere you look.

The next major factor is price. The last couple of years have seen a downward trend in prices, which is great for you guys. A great price for a website is 20 dollars per month. In my opinion, anything over $35 per month is getting a bit too pricey.

Of course, whether a website is worth the price will largely depend on their update schedule. Weekly updates are good. I think anything less than weekly updates means a website isn't worth your money. Updates more frequent than weekly are excellent, and probably represent excellent value for money even at about 40 dollars per month. Very few quality websites can offer daily updates, but there are some out there, and you will stay a member at those websites for a long time to come. For a website to get away with infrequent updates, they'd better have a damn good archive to make up for it. But due to the nature of exclusive content, you won't find many exclusive websites with enough content to justify not having regular updates, although there are always exceptions to the rule. One thing to take note of, though: If a website doesn't mention that they have weekly updates on their tour, then they probably don't. Okay, so those are my three major criteria, but what else matters? Navigation. I hate cluttered members' areas. Website operators should make it as easy as possible for their users to get at the porn. Sometimes, it feels like you're in a fucking maze, and that's just not on. Something that really irks me is when the website owners feel the need to have their pictures open up in a new window. If I wanted a picture to open in a new window, I'd choose to have it open in a new window myself. My personal preference, and I know this is the personal preference of the majority of porn viewers, is that images open in the same window in which they were clicked.

Then there's the extra little attention to detail that impresses me. Image sets available in zips, ready to download. Videos being available in multiple formats, and in multiple sizes to suit various connection speeds. I hate embedded video, but I think it's fine so long as they also offer a link to download the file to your computer. Pictures available in multiple sizes is also a nice bonus. I recently reviewed a website that offered images ranging from 640 pixels on the longest side to an incredible 4000 pixels! I still visit that website on a regular basis.

I think options are important. Ideally, a website should offer you every option under the sun. I want video to be available in Windows Media Format, Quicktime, DivX and Real Player. I want the option of viewing pictures in a slideshow. I want downloadable zips. I want multiple file sizes for pictures and videos. I want full scenes and clips. I know that might sound as if it would make things cluttered, but it really is quite easy to organize all these options in a clear and simple manner. I've seen a few websites that have managed to pull it off.

One of the most important pieces of advice I can give you is to read read read! Never casually fill in a signup form, no matter how horny you are. Be sure to read over the entire form. A lot of websites have pre-checked cross-sales. I know, you're probably asking yourself what the hell a pre-checked cross-sale is. A lot of websites will have a couple of check boxes on their signup forms about how you can receive trial access to another website for a small amount. Usually between 2 and 5 dollars. The thing is, quite often, these boxes are already checked, and if you don't uncheck them, you will be billed for these trials. But hey, that's not so bad, it is only a few bucks, right? Well, the problem is that when these trials are over, they will automatically renew as a full monthly membership with that full monthly price. Fall for this, and you won't be the first person to be surprised when you get your credit card bill. Also, if you do actually want the trial access, be sure to read the terms and conditions regarding canceling these memberships, as a lot of them have a rule that you must cancel 24 hours before the end of the trial to prevent the automatic monthly membership renewal. So if it's a 3-day trial, and you cancel on the third day, you still might get hit with the bill. Personally, I would advise you to just avoid cross-sales to avoid any possible hassles later down the road.

A trend that seems to be growing rapidly in recent times is multi-site memberships. In these cases, you'll receive access to a number of websites for the price of one, or in some cases, for just a little bit extra. These passes are excellent, and even in the case of a poor website, can mean it's worth joining. I was recently inside a members' area of this one particular website, that to say the least, was quite awful. However, the membership came with access to over 80 other premium paysites. Of course, a lot of them were of little interest to me, and many were as bad as the one I was in, but there were about 20 or so websites in that multi-site membership that I really enjoyed. So the price of just one membership, I had 20 websites to enjoy! So, always keep an eye out for multi-site memberships. They're a great way to stretch the proverbial dollar.
